Dear Esteemed Members and Distinguished Participants,
It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 102nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists — KoreAnesthesia 2025.
This year’s congress, held under the theme “Innovating Standards, Empowering Tomorrow,” will take place from November 6 to 8, 2025, at Paradise City Resort, Incheon, Korea.
KoreAnesthesia 2025 presents an extensive and forward-looking scientific program, featuring 205 lectures and 8 workshops, with 384 abstracts submitted from 20 countries and more than 2,300 pre-registered participants representing 37 nations. This truly global gathering will serve as a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas, advancing innovation, and shaping the future of anesthesiology and pain medicine.
A highlight of this year’s congress is the Keynote Lecture Series, delivered by two eminent scholars who have profoundly influenced modern anesthesiology. Professor Daniel Sessler will present “The Gathering Storm,” addressing the emerging challenges and transformative trends that will shape the future of perioperative medicine. Professor Donald Arnold will follow with “The Role of Anesthesiologists in Shaping Societal Change – Why Active Engagement Matters,” offering reflections on the leadership, ethics, and social responsibility of anesthesiologists in an era of rapid medical and societal evolution. Together, these distinguished lectures will provide valuable insights into how our specialty can adapt, lead, and contribute to meaningful progress within healthcare and beyond.
To further enhance academic excellence, this year’s meeting includes a special Research & Publication Program. Editors-in-chief from leading international journals, including Professor James Rathmell, Editor-in-Chief of Anesthesiology, will participate in sessions such as “Behind the Editors’ Desk: How to Publish in Top Anesthesia Journals” and “Top Anesthesia Research: Editors’ Picks from Leading Journals.” These sessions will offer participants a unique opportunity to learn directly from editorial leaders about publication strategies, current research directions, and the defining characteristics of high-impact scientific work.
In addition, the session “Improving Research Practice,” led by Professor Sessler, will share practical approaches to research design, conduct, and integrity—offering invaluable guidance for early-career investigators seeking to refine their research skills and vision.
KoreAnesthesia 2025 also embraces innovation through sessions focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, and clinically relevant topics, ensuring a balanced program that bridges foundational knowledge and cutting-edge development.
Through these diverse and forward-looking sessions, this congress aims to establish new standards of excellence and to empower anesthesiologists to lead the transformation of healthcare in the decades ahead.
On behalf of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists, I extend my deepest gratitude to all speakers, participants, and organizing committee members for their dedication and contribution to this meaningful event.
Your enthusiasm, expertise, and commitment will continue to illuminate the future of anesthesiology in Korea and around the world.
Thank you.
